Rilian has raised $17.5 million in seed and extension rounds to speed up its work on developing and deploying its agentic AI-based cybersecurity and defense systems in the United States, allied countries, and corporate environments. Funded by firms such as 8VC, the company will utilize the capital for growth, recruitment, and research and development activities centered around automating intricate cyber and defense processes. The heart of Rilian’s product portfolio is Caspian, which is an AI-native orchestration system designed to automate best-of-breed cybersecurity solutions in various settings, such as sovereign cloud, on-premises, and air-gapped environments.

Designed to address the growing gap between advanced technologies and limited human capacity, the platform enhances detection, response, and operational efficiency through autonomous AI agents. Rilian has already demonstrated traction with a major contract supporting the UAE’s national cybersecurity infrastructure. “For many national security organizations, the challenge of executing their mission is not a lack of budget or technology; it is the effective utilization of technical capabilities with limited skilled manpower,” said Christian Schnedler, CEO and Co-Founder of Rilian.
