HII Unveils Next-Gen Multi-Domain Maritime Operations Framework

HII introduced a next-generation framework designed to transform joint maritime operations through integrated, multi-domain capabilities. The architecture integrates naval warships, unmanned autonomous systems, modular payloads, and open-architecture technology solutions to execute missions in the maritime domain along with others such as space, air, cyber, and land. At the heart of this architecture lies the concept of system of systems, which integrates manned/unmanned systems and enables fast-deployable capabilities with command and control driven by data.

“This is about connecting platforms and enabling the mission,” said Eric Chewning, executive vice president of maritime systems and corporate strategy at HII. “Through open architecture, modular design, and rapid deployment models, we enable seamless integration of advanced technologies across platforms. By investing in autonomy and AI, we ensure that the U.S. Navy, Joint Force, and allied navies can adapt in real time to emerging threats using scalable, interoperable solutions.” Leveraging systems like Minotaur MMS and Odyssey ACS, the framework enhances real-time decision-making, accelerates sensor-to-shooter timelines, and strengthens operational agility, marking a shift toward distributed, networked warfare.
