Siemens and Xometry Forge Partnership on AI-native supply chain intelligence

Siemens has announced a landmark strategic partnership with Xometry, the leading AI-native marketplace for custom manufacturing. This association will revolutionize the concept of the industrial “digital thread” in its entirety by integrating the unique knowledge of manufacturability, pricing, and sourcing capabilities that are available on the Xometry platform directly into Siemens Xcelerator solutions.

The collaboration is bolstered by a $50 million minority investment from Siemens into Xometry, signaling a deep conviction that AI-driven intelligence will be the primary differentiator for the next generation of industrial software. This integration effectively merges Siemens’ digital twin expertise with Xometry’s massive, real-world manufacturing data to create a seamless path from digital concept to physical part.

Unifying Mechanical and Electronic Sourcing

This partnership expands Siemens’ existing supply chain intelligence capabilities. While Siemens’ Supplyframe currently provides deep design-to-source insights for electronic components, the integration of Xometry and its Thomas industrial sourcing network extends this visibility into standard and custom mechanical parts. For the first time, Siemens customers can achieve “full-stack” sourcing for their entire Bill of Materials (BOM) within a single ecosystem.

“Industrial competitiveness is defined by how fast and how confidently companies can turn digital ideas into physical reality,” said Tony Hemmelgarn, president and CEO, Siemens Digital Industries Software. “By infusing Siemens’ comprehensive digital twin expertise and industrial AI innovation with large-scale, AI-driven manufacturing intelligence, we’re breaking down the boundary between design and production for our customers. Our partnership with Xometry enables us to leverage AI to deliver the intelligence captured from millions of manufactured custom parts directly into the design process, empowering designers to work smarter, faster, and with greater impact.”

Real-World Intelligence at the Engineer’s Fingertips

Xometry’s AI models are trained on millions of part files and feedback from a global network of over 5,000 active suppliers. By bringing the Xometry Instant Quoting Engine® (IQE) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) AI directly into Siemens’ Designcenter™ software, the integration removes traditional handoff friction. Designers receive instant feedback on feasibility, lead times, and pricing without ever leaving their native CAD environment.

“Xometry and Siemens share a common opportunity: embed AI directly into the design digital thread, putting manufacturability, pricing, sourcing and execution intelligence in front of engineers at the instant design decisions are made,” said Randy Altschuler, co-founder and CEO, Xometry. “Xometry has built and trained its AI-native platform on the real-world complexities of manufacturing, including millions of part files, actual manufacturer feedback and production outcomes at global scale. This partnership enables us to deliver this intelligence to engineers inside the design systems and workflows where manufacturing decisions are made. When that intelligence is embedded inside the world’s leading industrial software, everyone wins.”

Democratizing Advanced Manufacturing

The collaboration also advances Siemens’ goal of making high-end industrial technology accessible to companies of all sizes. By combining enterprise-grade software with Xometry’s high-frequency, execution-driven marketplace, the partnership provides small and medium-sized manufacturers with the same rigor, security, and scalability previously reserved for the world’s largest industrial organizations.
