Kawasaki Heavy Industries and EdgeCortix have signed a Teaming Agreement to advance next-generation AI-enabled aerospace and defense systems through a multi-year strategic program valued at several million U.S. dollars across 2026 to 2028. The partnership brings together the aerospace and defense system capabilities of Kawasaki and the energy-efficient AI semiconductors and software from EdgeCortix in exploring future defense aircraft systems. The companies plan to undertake technology development, feasibility studies, system integration and prototype platform development, with opportunities to expand the program as technical milestones and additional development opportunities emerge. EdgeCortix will contribute its chiplet-based AI computing platform, MERA compiler and software framework, and related AI acceleration technologies designed to deliver high-performance processing at the edge while meeting the power, thermal, latency and reliability requirements of mission-critical systems.
