Keysight Unveils RF Signal Analyzers to Accelerate Wideband and Millimeter-Wave Wireless Validation

Keysight Technologies announced the Pro XA6 SA6320A and Expert XA5 SA6210A signal analyzers. The next level of test and measurement equipment enables RF design and validation engineers to analyze more complicated wireless systems in less time and with reduced errors.

Solving RF Validation Challenges

As wireless technology has progressed, the RF testing process has become significantly harder due to its wide operation band, the use of mmWave frequencies, and the density of antenna setups. While the traditional method of testing requires several capture sessions and data iterations, it does not detect transient signals. As a result, engineers only identify problems with their signals at the late stages of hardware design, which results in additional expenses.

With the use of Keysight technologies, the process of RF testing and analysis becomes much easier. In addition to their unique real-time analysis bandwidths and noise floor performance, the platforms also provide high-level hardware-accelerated processing.

Pro XA6 SA6320A: Ultra-Wideband and High-Frequency Spectral Mastery

The Pro XA6 SA6320A is a premium analyzer tailored for demanding wideband, mmWave, radar, and electronic warfare applications. It offers:

Unprecedented 8 GHz Capture Bandwidth: No need for stitching channels since all the ultra-wideband signals will be captured using one single uncompressed block.

Coverage Up To 67 GHz: Gives full preselection capability to cover next-generation 5G-advanced, 6G and radar research applications.

Practically Distortionless Signal: The best Displayed Average Noise Level (DANL) and Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) residual floor, coupled with low phase noise enables visibility of the low-level spurious and wideband interference components.

5G NR Decoding Using GPU Acceleration: Uses graphics processing unit (GPU) technology to decode 5G New Radio (NR) immediately hence reducing EVM measurements significantly.

Regulatory Compliance Test Capability: The instrument can use bandwidths of up to 80 MHz RBW for compliance test purposes.

Expert XA5 SA6210A: Dual-Channel Agility for Mainstream Wireless R&D

Optimized for daily validation and high-throughput manufacturing lines, the Expert XA5 SA6210A streamlines 5G, Wi-Fi, and ultra-wideband (UWB) test matrices. Key attributes include:

No Images Required – Fast Sweeps: Sweeps up to 32 GHz in one shot with no images in spectrum to ensure technicians have the ability to identify any unwanted emissions from the very start of their measurement.

Dual-Receiver Technology: Utilizes a dual-receiver MIMO architecture to house two RF chains in one unit and perform cross correlated EVM measurements without external switching.

2 GHz Analysis Envelopes: Compatible with carrier aggregation and modern short range wireless communications technologies operating at 5G speeds.

User-Friendly Interface: Offers a high resolution display with an entirely new, intuitive user interface design while maintaining backwards compatibility with legacy X-Series SCPI commands.

“Wireless design and validation are becoming significantly more challenging as engineers work with wider bandwidths, higher frequencies, and more complex signal environments. The Pro XA6 SA6320A and Expert XA5 SA6210A signal analyzers are built to help engineering teams capture more signal behavior in less time, increase measurement speed, and move from design and debug to validation with greater confidence.” — Jun Chie, Vice President, Keysight Core Product Management
