Mercedes‑Benz Partner with Liquid AI to Advance MBUX In‑Car Intelligence

Mercedes-Benz has announced a multi-year partnership with Liquid AI to scale embedded, which will help bring on-device intelligence in the company’s automobiles that come with third and fourth generations of MBUX to North America, thereby heralding an important milestone towards achieving next-gen in-car AI experiences. Leveraging the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), the tie-up will utilize Liquid AI’s efficient Liquid Foundation Models (LFM) to improve real-time, privacy-preserving, and cloud-independent functionalities, especially around speech, language comprehension, and reasoning. In essence, this upgrade to the MBUX Virtual Assistant seeks to offer more seamless, lower latency, and context-aware user experiences by carrying out computations locally within the automobile, without being dependent on uninterrupted cloud connectivity.
