Geotab Inc., which provides services for connected operations, video telematics, and AI-enabled fleet insights, has partnered with the Freight Fraud Prevention Hub (FFPH). The FFPH is a joint venture among different organizations and carriers to address issues such as the need for enhancing freight fraud awareness, establishing stricter carrier verification protocols, and raising awareness about supply chain security. The partnership comes against the backdrop of growing fears regarding freight fraud cases that employ more sophisticated techniques to exploit the supply chain system. As reported by Geotab’s recent white paper titled Securing the Supply Chain: A 2026 Blueprint for Stopping Smarter Theft, the cases of cargo theft increased by 27 percent year-on-year (YOY) in 2024.

The total losses from cargo thefts have been reported to be worth approximately $35 billion annually. In the same report, 38 percent of fleet managers stated that they are more worried about cargo theft than they were last year, and 47 percent of fleet professionals think that theft-induced stress results in driver burnout. “Cargo theft has evolved far beyond physical theft from truck stops or distribution yards,” said Emily Williams, AVP, Transportation Business Development at Geotab. “Today’s threats are increasingly strategic, coordinated and digital. Freight fraud can happen long before a truck ever reaches a pickup location. Joining the Freight Fraud Prevention Hub aligns with our commitment to helping fleets strengthen operational resilience through greater awareness, stronger verification practices and technology-driven visibility.”
