TomTom (TOM2) and Transit Technologies, a premier provider of software solutions for public mobility ecosystems, have announced a strategic partnership. The collaboration integrates TomTom Orbis Maps and Live Traffic data into Transit Technologies’ fleet management and logistics software platforms, bringing high-fidelity, real-time routing intelligence to transit, paratransit, and non-emergent medical transportation (NEMT) operations across the United States and Central America.
Transit Technologies develops foundational software for public and private agencies that millions of passengers rely on for daily, time-sensitive transportation. Incorporating TomTom’s high-precision mapping layers and continuous traffic streaming allows these transit networks to execute highly accurate, traffic-aware routing maneuvers. This integration supports more adaptive, passenger-centric transit operations across structurally complex urban and regional shipping lanes.
“Transit agencies are under constant pressure to do more with less and unreliable routing is a problem no agency can afford,” said Gerry Leonard, Chief Executive Officer, Transit Technologies. “Integrating TomTom’s mapping and live traffic capabilities gives our platform the real-time intelligence needed to help agencies respond to the road conditions they’re actually facing, not the conditions they planned for.”

“Transit agencies need mapping technology that performs under real-world conditions,” said Benoit Joly, Head of Sales, TomTom. “We’re proud to support Transit Technologies in delivering the routing accuracy and real-time awareness that transit, paratransit, and NEMT providers need to keep riders moving and communities connected.”
Breaking Through Gridlock for Time-Sensitive Mobility Networks
Integration will address a key issue for these specialized fleets, namely how scheduling accuracy plays a significant role in the health of passengers and the greater good of the community as a whole.
TomTom Orbis Maps supplies a regularly updated, highly detailed digital map standard designed specifically for the high usage of commercial fleets.
TomTom Live Traffic offers fast, 30-second updates on current traffic, multiple vehicle accidents, construction obstructions, and even sudden closures of roads.
With all of these data sources combined, Transit Technologies has the visibility needed to optimize routing, utilize resources better, and increase on-time arrival rate. At the end of the day, the collaboration turns chaotic road conditions into reliable mobility networks.
