Foodberry Launches New Consumer Product Partnership With NadaMoo!, Showcasing Its Patented Food Technology Platform

Foodberry has partnered with NadaMoo! dairy-free ice cream to develop a new class of snackable frozen treats, which are beginning to roll out this Spring in 750 retail locations, including Big Y, Giant Foods, New Seasons, and other natural, specialty, and conventional supermarkets. For their new Frozen Snack Bites, Foodberry worked with NadaMoo! to develop a range of coatings—including mango, orange creme, peanut butter, mint, and salted caramel—to encapsulate their chocolate, vanilla and strawberry flavored coconut milk ice cream. Foodberry’s patented technology, with 20+ patents, allows for the creation of limitless varieties of plant-based coatings made from fruit and vegetable fibers, which serve as a platform that companies can use to create self-contained, bite-size versions of their signature products, as well as unique new food forms and combinations.

Foodberry’s proprietary technology enables new alternatives for coating ice cream beyond a traditional chocolate shell or chewy dough-based exterior. Their process replicates nature’s ability to wrap and protect fresh, hydrated foods in a wide array of sweet or savory coatings to create convenient and craveable new snacks.

For NadaMoo!’s Frozen Snack Bites, each coating captures the flavor and texture of its main ingredient. The mango is made with fresh mango puree, and tastes like a slice of fruit surrounding a cool strawberry center; real peanut butter is used to create a creamy, nutty coating with chocolate inside; and the caramel has the chewy consistency and roasted sugar flavor of traditional candy treats, paired with a vanilla center. At only 25-35 calories and 3g sugar per piece, the bites have approximately 3-4x less sugar and less than half the calories of the average mochi treat. The Frozen Snack Bites were named a finalist for best new dessert at Expo West’s NEXTY Awards, which recognize the most progressive, impactful and trustworthy products in the natural products industry.

“We believe nature has provided the template for delicious, healthy, and sustainable food,” says Marty Kolewe, CEO of Foodberry. “Our underlying technology serves as a platform for food brands to imagine new worlds of possibilities within the snacking category, and we’re excited to see the range of products it will inspire!”
