Enphase Energy has launched its new IQ9N™ Microinverter for residential photovoltaic applications in select markets in Europe. The IQ9N Microinverter is another addition to Enphase’s line-up of microinverters and is highly efficient, helping the end-user derive maximum benefit from the latest high-powered solar panels. Featuring cutting-edge gallium nitride (GaN) technology, the IQ9N offers a leading efficiency rate of 97.44% EU weighted efficiency and up to 97.95% peak efficiency, backed by a lifetime warranty period of 25 years. Offering support for 16 A of continuous DC current and 427 VA of output power, the new product is designed especially for high-quality high-wattage solar panels while maintaining backwards compatibility with the existing IQ7™ Series and IQ8™ Series Microinverters along with the company’s IQ® Batteries.

Through the use of GaN technology, the microinverter provides for low thermal output and limited conduction losses, hence ensuring low heat emission, durability, and efficient operation even under challenging conditions like partial shading, complex rooftops, and high temperatures. Unlike traditional string inverters that perform the DC to AC conversion centrally, IQ9N conducts the DC to AC conversion locally on a panel basis, thereby adding another level of safety in terms of its all-AC rooftop technology. “Residential solar customers across Europe expect their systems to perform at the highest level for decades,” said Sabbas Daniel, senior vice president of sales for Europe at Enphase Energy. “IQ9N Microinverters combine our proven distributed architecture with GaN technology and support for the latest panels, giving homeowners one of the most powerful and efficient Enphase microinverters we’ve ever built, with the reliability customers expect from Enphase.”
