RoboSense Unveils EMX: Industry-Leading 192-Beam Digital Automotive LiDAR, Ushering in the Customizable Digital Era

RoboSense continues to drive innovation in AI-driven robotics technology with the launch of EMX, its advanced 192-beam high-performance automotive digital LiDAR. Setting a new industry benchmark, EMX accelerates the adoption of digital LiDAR with unmatched performance, integration, and customization capabilities, marking a significant step forward in automotive intelligence.

EMX: 192-Beam High-Performance Automotive Digital LiDAR

The EMX by RoboSense is a breakthrough in the digital LiDAR era—compact, yet powerful. Featuring an upgraded intelligent “Gaze” function and robust customization support, EMX is designed to meet the diverse needs of modern assisted driving systems. As assisted driving technology continues to gain mainstream traction, EMX addresses these needs comprehensively, offering a versatile solution for the evolving automotive landscape.

With RoboSense’s EM platform, EMX delivers 192 beams for high-density scans, producing an impressive 2.88 million points per second. Its ultra-clear global angular resolution of 0.08° × 0.1° and precise detection capabilities, extending up to 300 meters, ensure highly accurate object detection. Whether it’s black vehicles or traffic cones, EMX enhances driving precision and response time, detecting obstacles up to 200 meters away.

Equipped with RoboSense’s proprietary scanning technology, EMX integrates control algorithms with scanner dynamics to achieve scanning rates of up to 20Hz—significantly exceeding industry standards. This feature reduces response latency by over 50%, enhancing the vehicle’s ability to manage sudden scenarios, such as pedestrian detection or fast lane changes.

Offering a 140° field of view (FOV) and enhanced “Gaze” functionality, EMX can dynamically boost its horizontal angular resolution by up to six times, significantly expanding its adaptability across various driving conditions and environments.

Thoroughly automotive-grade tested, EMX is built to excel under the most challenging environmental conditions. With features like anti-reflectivity interference, noise reduction in rain, fog, and dust, as well as resistance to contamination and water stains, EMX ensures comprehensive driving safety for both the vehicle and its occupants.

Utilizing SPAD-SoC and VCSEL chips, EMX offers high detection sensitivity and maintains the integrity of original data. This enhances spatiotemporal synchronization and fusion perception outcomes. Thanks to its digital architecture, EMX is highly integrated and measures just 120mm × 80mm × 30mm, making it the smallest digital automotive LiDAR on the market. This compact design facilitates broader adoption and integration in advanced assisted-driving systems.

Already receiving industry recognition, EMX has earned design wins from multiple automotive OEMs and is slated to enter production by the end of the year.
