PowerBank Corporation shared exciting news about its work with Smartlink AI. The Genesis-1 satellite, launched on December 10, 2025, is now fully operational. It is successfully running an AI model in orbit. This achievement shows that on-orbit AI computing is possible. Now, satellites can process data themselves instead of depending only on Earth-based data centers. This shift is important because of growing issues like power, cooling, and land limits on Earth. Genesis-1 is the first working node in Orbit AI’s satellite network. It shows early proof of concept before more launches.

A second satellite is planned for Q1 2026. Dr. Richard Lu PowerBank’s President and CEO commented, “PowerBank is proud to collaborate with Smartlink AI on their Orbit AI project and the launch of the Genesis-1 satellite. It is excellent for PowerBank and our partners to see first-hand how the new frontier of Artificial Intelligence compute in space is evolving.” PowerBank expects to remain a partner as the network expands, contributing solar energy and thermal control expertise, while noting it has not made an equity investment in Orbit AI at this time.
