onsemi Launches Industry-First Elite Pairing Studio to Accelerate Power Electronics Design

onsemi has launched the Elite Pairing Studio, a pioneering online design tool that seeks to simplify and streamline power electronics design through efficient pairing of Silicon Carbide (SiC) MOSFETs with gate drivers. Specifically developed for applications in harsh environments like AI data centers, electric vehicles, industrial equipment, and electrification systems, the cloud solution is intended to help electronic designers go beyond conventional component selection approaches involving lengthy datasheet analysis, spreadsheets, and experimentation. Elite Pairing Studio analyzes various configurations in terms of their performance against defined design constraints and provides recommendations for optimum combinations with comprehensive insight into parameters like switching dynamics, timings, energy losses, voltage margin, and gate voltage/ current waveforms.

This design tool provides the electronic designer an opportunity to compare various performance metrics before proceeding with any further development. It is fully integrated within the onsemi simulation framework and can be used to evaluate performance at system level too. By combining transparent evaluation methodologies, physics-based device models, and automated analysis, the platform aims to shorten development cycles, reduce design risk, and improve product performance. Available now through onsemi’s website, Elite Pairing Studio represents a significant step toward smarter, data-driven power design, with plans to incorporate additional onsemi technologies into the platform in the future.
