Leidos Advances U.S. Air Force Cloud Operations for Faster Mission Readiness

Leidos has been awarded a $454.9 million contract to modernize the US Air Force’s Cloud One platform. This is one of the key initiatives to speed up the adoption of cloud services for the US Air Force operations. The modernization of the platform will enable better security, increased automation, and ease of operating the platform for the US Air Force’s multi-cloud environment. The modernization will also enable cost savings for the US Air Force organization. The company will be working with other key cloud players like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to modernize the platform’s architecture.

The modernized infrastructure is expected to provide a secure cloud foundation that can be used for other defense organization operations as well, thereby speeding up the migration of applications to the cloud environment. By simplifying processes and strengthening governance, the program aims to help Air Force teams manage cloud operations with greater speed and confidence while supporting mission readiness. “Modernizing Cloud One helps the Air Force deploy mission-critical operations faster and defend them more effectively,” said Steve Hull, president of Leidos’ Digital Modernization. “It also creates a secure, repeatable cloud foundation that other Department of War organizations can adopt, helping to remove barriers to cloud adoption and enabling teams to move faster and more securely to help meet mission demands and maintain a strategic edge.”
