Echo Global Logistics has launched EchoParcel, a new parcel management solution designed to help shippers simplify operations, optimize transportation costs and integrate parcel shipping into broader multimodal supply chain strategies. This solution is powered by the EchoShip Platform of the firm based on the strategic relationship of the firm with FedEx for providing customers with competitive parcel rates, enterprise-level transport management features, and consolidated shipment visibility through a variety of freight methods. Adding parcels, the current service offerings from the EchoShip platform have now become parcel services, LTL services, partial and volume LTLs, and TLs using a single platform that allows customers to consolidate their transportation management through a single source. The firm stated that the new solution is intended to bridge the existing gap between parcel and other transport management functions.

In addition to parcel execution, EchoParcel is supported by Echo’s multimodal logistics experts and includes access to broader supply chain services such as fulfillment, distribution, contract analysis, audit and analytics. “EchoParcel is a natural extension of our strategy to deliver more value through our technology and network,” said Doug Waggoner, Chief Executive Officer at Echo. “By adding parcel to EchoShip, we’re enabling our clients to take a more integrated approach to transportation, improving decision making, service, and cost performance across their entire network.” Frank Hurst, Executive Vice President of Operations at Echo, added that the solution helps customers simplify parcel operations while achieving better service and cost outcomes through a unified multimodal transportation strategy.
