Technica Optical Components releases new family of FBG based Cryogenic Temperature Sensors

Technica Optical Components is pleased to announce its new family of Fiber Bragg Gratings based Temperature Sensors for operation in Cryogenic environments down to -270 Degrees Celsius. The sensors’ advanced unibody micro-structured design for temperature measurements in ultra- low temperature environments uses a precision Technica made FBGs written into the fibers’ core and advanced cryogenic rated materials technology for producing a transducer configuration of high resolution, precision, and repeatability.

ATEX compliant for use in explosive environments. The TECHNICASA T860 full-scale (FS) accuracy and precision specifications take into account any hysteresis, non-linearities, and the repeatability of the sensor. The cryogenic temperature sensors’ handling and installation is fast, easy and intuitive. Absolute temperature calibration available upon request. Fabricated using licensed and proprietary state-of-the-art laser manufacturing technologies and product designs.

“Demand for specialty Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensors is growing as optical sensing applications continue their proliferation in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) monitoring, aerospace, research in cold environments, and many other fields. Immune to lightning and electro-magnetic interference (EMI), small, light, multiplexable, and highly reliable, our new family of field proven cryogenic temperature sensors is a valuable tool for monitoring and controlling industrial and commercial processes, equipment and infrastructure that must operate at low temperatures. With ongoing developments and new releases of TECHNICASA sensors, we are excited to continue to contribute to the expansion of available fiberoptic sensors in the market” stated Andrei Csipkes, President and CEO of Technica.
