Keysight and Synopsys Deliver an AI RF Design Migration from TSMC’s N6RF+ to N4P Process Node

Keysight Technologies, and Synopsys, announced the release of an AI-driven RF design migration flow developed to accelerate the transition from TSMC’s N6RF+ process to the advanced N4P node. This collaboration addresses the growing performance demands of next-generation wireless integrated circuit (IC) applications.

Built on TSMC’s Analog Design Migration (ADM) methodology, the integrated migration flow combines Synopsys’ AI-based automation with Keysight’s cutting-edge RF simulation technologies. The result is a streamlined workflow that simplifies the redesign of passive devices and RF components in compliance with the tighter process rules of TSMC’s N4P technology.

For RF circuit designers, this innovation represents a significant advancement. The new AI-powered methodology not only enhances design productivity but also maximizes the performance benefits inherent in the N4P process. In a demonstrative use case, the redesign of a low-noise amplifier (LNA) from N6RF+ to N4P showcased tangible performance improvements.

The collaborative flow features key components from both companies’ portfolios:

  • Synopsys Custom Compiler™ layout environment integrated with ASO.ai™, an AI-powered analog and RF design migration tool.

  • Synopsys PrimeSim™, a high-performance circuit simulation platform.

  • Keysight RFPro, enabling passive device parameterization, automated value optimization, and electromagnetic (EM) simulation aligned with updated process rules.

By integrating AI into the migration pipeline, designers can rapidly adapt to N4P specifications while preserving performance goals and minimizing design cycles—ultimately accelerating time-to-market.

“AI enables and aids RF circuit designers in a novel way to rapidly achieve the migration process and redesign to the N4P process, resulting in faster time-to-market,” said a spokesperson from the partnership. “Synopsys Custom Compiler, along with ASO.ai, an AI-driven analog design migration solution, identifies optimal design parameters to meet performance metrics. Keysight RFPro enables parameterization of passive devices, including inductors, and automatically re-creates simulation models with layouts tuned to the new process rules.”
