RELEX Solutions Partners with Dollar General to Unify Autonomous Supply Chain Forecasting and Replenishment

RELEX Solutions has announced a strategic technology partnership with discount retailer Dollar General Corporation. As per the contract, Dollar General will use RELEX’s AI native solution for optimizing demand forecasting, replenishment, and allocation processes within its North American retail network.

In total, Dollar General manages a vast retail network, which includes more than 21,000 stores and 34 distribution centers, offering more than 18,000 SKUs and growing its store network. In order to optimize decision-making processes in the high-speed environment of Dollar General’s retail network, the company chose to integrate its entire planning functions using RELEX.

Integration of End-to-End Processes and Synchronization of Data

The solution provided by RELEX will allow for synchronizing of store replenishment schedules, orders’ processing cycles, supplier lead times, supplier collaboration, and cross-channel fulfillment processes within the integrated planning framework. Integration of real-time sales, seasonality, and other operational factors into the forecasting process allows the platform to synchronize distribution centers and retail stores within a single point of inventory data.

“We chose RELEX because it gives us a practical way to use AI in our planning and helps our teams focus on the issues that truly need attention,” said Jeff Vaughan, SVP Global Inventory Management at Dollar General. “The platform brings forecasting, replenishment, and allocation planning into a single environment, giving our teams greater visibility across the network.”

“RELEX is built to run planning for retailers operating at this scale,” said Frank Lord, Chief Revenue Officer at RELEX Solutions. “Dollar General’s scale and pace, with more than 21,000 stores and a complex distribution network, require planning that is reliable and straightforward. Our forecasting and replenishment capabilities handle large SKU volumes and give teams a clear view across the supply chain.”

Driving Operational Efficiency at Scale

Through the implementation of a coherent and AI-powered planning framework that replaces disjointed legacy systems, Dollar General is looking forward to ensuring availability of products in stores, reducing costs associated with carrying inventory, and improving the flow of goods from suppliers to distribution centers. It prepares the company for handling the complexities of the supply chain while scaling its store network.
