Rajant Corporation announced the acquisition of The Bellwether Group (TBG) , a transaction that expands its ability to turn advanced technologies into solutions for customers in the defense and national security sectors.
The acquisition combines Rajant’s technology in communications, edge computing, and autonomous systems with Bellwether’s expertise in national security, applied research, and government environments subject to stringent security requirements. Both organizations will work to identify emerging needs, adapt existing technologies to meet those challenges, and accelerate the development and deployment of solutions for complex operational environments.
Bellwether brings security clearances for Top Secret facilities, highly qualified personnel, and extensive experience supporting sensitive government missions. This addition will enable Rajant to participate in segments of the federal market requiring specialized expertise and strengthen its resources to attract and support technical talent with the necessary clearances.

As part of the acquisition, Tim Teal , founder and CEO of The Bellwether Group, will join Rajant as director of missions and capabilities , reporting directly to Robert J. Schena. In this role, he will work with the technology, strategy, and leadership teams to identify emerging needs, align internal resources with demands on the ground, and bring together the technologies, partners, and expertise necessary to address complex defense and national security challenges.
Teal has decades of experience in national security, including leadership positions in the U.S. Navy, the National Security Agency (NSA), U.S. Cyber Command, and the National Cyber Mission Force (NCMF). At Cyber Command, he served as technical director and founded the unit that later became the J9 Directorate. At the NCMF, he was director and spearheaded the creation of a new, unified organization that integrated the J6, J8, and J9 functions. His expertise encompasses operations, capability assessment, signals and cyber intelligence environments, and the design of organizational structures to translate emerging needs into concrete solutions.

Dr. Shana Teal , Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of The Bellwether Group, will join Rajant as Chief Scientific Officer . As a member of Bellwether’s leadership team and responsible for its development, she brings extensive experience in applied research, cognitive analytics, human behavior, and national security environments, as well as in government agencies with high security clearance requirements.
In her new role, Dr. Teal will lead research aimed at translating emerging technologies and insights into human behavior into solutions for operational and national security environments. Together with Tim Teal and Rajant’s engineering and development teams, she will help transform new mission requirements into concrete technical programs, capability enhancements, and new product opportunities.
