UNIFI, Inc, a leader in recycled and synthetic yarns, announced two new products that make its REPREVE® product line the world’s largest portfolio of recycled high-performance polyesters. Powered by the company’s proprietary Textile Takeback™ process, UNIFI now offers white dyeable filament yarn and a revolutionary fill material, ThermaLoop, representing a major leap forward in textile-to-textile recycling at scale.
“Polyester is the most widely used fiber on the planet, and now is the time for change,” said Eddie Ingle, CEO of UNIFI. “Brands can now consider solutions throughout the entire product lifecycle and work towards their 2030 environmentally friendly material goals. Our goal is to provide best-in-class sustainable products that eliminate the need for virgin materials and reduce carbon emissions.”
Both new products are made from 100% recycled polyester, which contains at least 50% textile waste, reaching virgin quality standards. The Textile Takeback™ process uses proprietary technology to recycle and process global post-industrial and post-consumer textile waste into next-generation materials. To further enhance the value of the entire supply chain, UNIFI will also work with global brands to recycle their waste and extend the material cycle time.
The new circular REPREVE® filament yarn is a white, dyeable, high-performance polyester suitable for most critical applications, with broad versatility across industries, applications and colorways. The circular REPREVE® polyester range also includes black filament yarn and black and white staple fibers, all with inherent FiberPrint® tracking technology, meaning all products can receive U-Trust® certification.

ThermaLoop filling materials, available in down-like loose, ball and sheet, offer premium performance, recovery and thermal efficiency. Sheets can contain REPREVE® low-melting fiber, a groundbreaking innovation that makes it possible to produce 100% recycled synthetic fillings. Driven by UNIFI’s “waste-free” philosophy, Thermaloop™’s black insulation material demonstrates that a wide range of textile waste can be used as raw materials.
