Digi International expands the Digi XBee 3 product family with two new, globally deployable, intelligent LTE mobile network modems

Digi International, a leading provider of Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity solutions, expanded the Digi XBee 3 Global Cellular product family with the unveiling of Digi XBee 3 Cellular LTE Cat 1 and Digi XBee 3 Cellular LTE-M/NB-IoT, intelligent modems for global use. The new modules offer the power and flexibility of the well-known Digi XBee ecosystem – pre-certified for global mobile deployment to reduce development times and eliminate the costs associated with carrier certification processes.

The latest members of the Digi XBee Global Cellular product family are reliable, compact solutions with BLE and terminal carrier certifications, which can be used worldwide and are equipped with GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) positioning. They are simplified and future-ready solutions for developers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) who want to add reliable cellular connectivity for the Internet of Things (IoT) to their devices or IoT gateways. With pre-integrated certifications, the XBee 3 Global family supports LTE Cat 1, LTE-M and NB-IoT networks with 2G/3G fallback – for applications requiring reliable cellular network connectivity anywhere in the world.

Designed for applications requiring higher throughput, the XBee 3 Cat 1 Smart Modem provides customers with a single SKU for deploying cellular products anywhere in the world. It also includes a 2G/3G fallback option for use in regions and countries where Cat 1 is not available.

Digi XBee 3 LTE-M/NB-IoT Modules provide low-power cellular connectivity and are intended for applications that need to collect data from devices at the network edge. They support higher data volumes, lower latency and cell tower handover, making them ideal for mobile applications and product tracking.
