As part of its Empowering Innovation Together series, Mouser Electronics marries smart home technology and the Matter protocol

For this new installment, Mouser brought together international technology experts from the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) and industry-leading manufacturers to study all aspects of Matter, from release to market to design standards.

With widespread industry support from leading semiconductor manufacturers including NXP Semiconductors, Silicon Labs, STMicroelectronics, Schneider Electric, Texas Instruments, Infineon Technologies, Nordic Semiconductor, and Microchip Technology Inc., Matter is poised to revolutionize home technology smart. With this latest installment, Mouser is providing engineers and developers with the information, resources, and knowledge they need to design products that harness the power of this new standard.

The Matter series includes two new episodes of The Tech Between Us podcast, hosted by Raymond Yin, Technical Content Director at Mouser. In episodes one and two, Raymond Yin is joined by Connectivity Standards Alliance CTO Chris LaPré. The duo cover Matter’s take to market and review the types of smart home devices compatible with the new standard. They also examine the CSA’s role with Matter, as well as future priority areas of interest. A third podcast, In Between the Tech, contains an interview with Sujata Neidig, Director of Marketing, Wireless Connectivity, NXP Semiconductors. Ms. Neidig discusses the types of hardware and software on which the Matter protocol is based, the impact of Matter on manufacturers in terms of product design and development, as well as the aspects that engineers must take into account when they design products using Matter.
