Onfleet and GigSmart Connect Businesses to Delivery Drivers With New Partnership

Onfleet, the leading last mile delivery management software platform, announced a partnership and product integration with GigSmart, the top labor marketplace that connects businesses with available workers. This unique integration is available now to help businesses looking for delivery drivers source, hire and manage workers while also having the ability to manage their delivery operations and customer communication.

The driver shortage has plagued the transportation, logistics and delivery industry for years, and the pandemic worsened its impact. The American Trucking Associations estimates that more than 80,000 drivers are needed today, and the total cost of drivers leaving their jobs is an estimated $2.8 billion per year. The rise in consumer expectations for rapid delivery has resulted in a huge demand for on-call delivery drivers. However, third-party app fees can cut into profits while leaving businesses without a direct connection to drivers.

“When a business wants to reach new customers at home effectively, it needs two things: drivers and a delivery dispatch and management platform. Historically, finding and retaining drivers has been a major challenge for businesses,” said Khaled Naim, CEO and Co-Founder at Onfleet. “By partnering with GigSmart and connecting our two platforms, our customers can easily tap into GigSmart’s labor pool, find available drivers, and seamlessly execute deliveries. This partnership helps solve one of the biggest pain points in last mile delivery today.”

GigSmart’s COO Mitch Catino was inspired to approach Onfleet about partnership opportunities when he noticed a number of businesses using GigSmart for delivery drivers were also using Onfleet.

“Businesses were managing workers in both GigSmart and Onfleet, and the customers were figuring it out on their own, but it wasn’t a perfect experience using two different platforms to manage one person. We saw an opportunity here to form a partnership that was truly complementary for both businesses,” Catino said. “GigSmart is fantastic at sourcing, paying, and managing workers, while Onfleet excels at delivery management and route optimization. Now it’s easier for GigSmart’s users to access the Onfleet platform – making this a powerful combination for both sets of our customers.”
