Motorola Solutions has strengthened its public safety portfolio with the acquisition of RapidDeploy, a cloud-native provider of Next Generation 911 solutions. Based in Austin, Texas, RapidDeploy’s technology aims to accelerate emergency response times and improve decision-making for 911 dispatch centers.
The integration of RapidDeploy’s products, such as Radius Mapping for real-time call location data and the Lightning mobile app for first responders, will enhance Motorola’s existing emergency response systems. These tools help streamline dispatch processes and provide first responders with critical information, including GPS coordinates, indoor layouts, and live video feeds.

With over 1,600 public safety answering points across 24 states currently utilizing RapidDeploy’s services, this acquisition will enhance Motorola’s VESTA 911 call handling and AI-powered VESTA NXT platforms. By integrating RapidDeploy’s tools, Motorola aims to provide faster, more efficient service to public safety agencies, improving situational awareness and emergency response across the nation.
