B&G Foods Appoints Robert D. Mills as President and Chief Executive Officer

B&G Foods has appointed Robert “Rob” D. Mills as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective August 11, 2026. Mills succeeds Casey Keller, who retired from the CEO role and the company’s board after five years in the position. Mills has served on the B&G Foods board since March 2018, giving him an established understanding of the company, its operations and its strategic priorities.

The leadership transition comes as B&G Foods focuses on reshaping its portfolio, improving margins and cash flow, reducing debt and strengthening overall business performance. Mills brings more than 20 years of leadership experience spanning business operations, corporate strategy, digital commerce, technology, artificial intelligence, mergers and acquisitions, and business development.

Before joining B&G Foods, Mills held several senior positions at Tractor Supply Company, most recently serving as Executive Vice President, Chief Technology Officer, Digital and Pet Services. His responsibilities included technology strategy, digital operations, strategic initiatives and oversight of several business areas. He previously held leadership roles at Ulta Beauty and Sears Holdings.

Mills’ appointment comes at an important point for B&G Foods as consumer brands face changing purchasing patterns, margin pressures and increasing competition. His background in technology and transformation also reflects how digital capabilities, data and AI are becoming increasingly relevant to traditional consumer businesses. The company will now look to combine those capabilities with portfolio management and operational discipline as it works through its next phase.
