Turing will provide artificial intelligence and IoT solutions for water, wastewater treatment and distribution systems
Gradiant, a global provider of advanced water and wastewater treatment solutions, announced that it has formed a wholly owned independent subsidiary and named Turing.
The new company is based on artificial intelligence pioneer Alan. Named after Alan Turing, it aims to drive significant cost savings and sustainable outcomes across the water value chain.
The establishment of Turing highlights that artificial intelligence-driven solutions have become a general trend in the water industry market, and Gradiant’s determination to accelerate this transformation. Turing will focus on leveraging its artificial intelligence-driven platforms, including SmartOps for wastewater treatment plants and HydroEye for water distribution networks , to deliver transformative value to customers and improve operational efficiencies.
Turing’s platform has seen significant adoption by customers including Fortune 100 companies and large utilities:
- Provided solutions for Aqualia, BHP, ENGIE, PUB Singapore, Rio Tinto, Severn Trent, Detectronic and Xylem.
- Helped a Singapore utility company remotely monitor its wastewater network, saving millions of dollars by preventing multiple sewer overflows, monitoring water quality in real-time to detect illegal discharge incidents, and preventing damage to underground sewers and tunnels.
- Saved hundreds of thousands of dollars at ENGIE factories in the Middle East.
- Saved more than 10% of energy for Australia’s seawater desalination project.
“After witnessing the transformative power of digital technology and artificial intelligence solutions to address global challenges, we recognize that no issue is more important than ensuring a source of fresh water for future generations,” said Anurag Bajpayee, Gradiant CEO. Both Gradiant and Turing will have the ability to manage their resources separately, develop leading technologies and deploy them to their respective markets for growth. Through this move, we will further strengthen our unique position to meet changing customer needs.”
Prakash Govindan, Chief Operating Officer, Gradiant said, “Turing will focus on delivering on its vision of a differentiated platform for scaling and deploying AI-powered digital solutions for industrial and municipal water customers around the world. The companies make full use of their respective strengths – Gradiant specializes in water, wastewater treatment and project delivery; Turing specializes in providing artificial intelligence and digital solutions for the entire water value chain. Our visionary technical director Hiep Le will join hands with experienced high-level decision-makers Together as a team, we will continue to lead the advancement of our digital technologies.”
