Eco-Energy Terminals Become First Two Verified Net-Zero Facilities in Georgia

Eco-Energy, a leading clean energy solutions partner, has received net-zero verification status from New Buildings Institute, a nonprofit organization working to improve the energy performance of commercial buildings. This monumental recognition of net-zero verification of the two terminal sites in Augusta, GA and Cartersville, GA are the first net-zero facilities verified in Georgia and the only fueling sites recognized in the country by New Buildings Institute.

Eco-Energy achieved this goal by improving the energy efficiency combined with custom solar projects at both sites to offset the greenhouse gases produced by the site. These projects have not only reduced the company’s carbon footprint and saved tremendously on energy costs, but have also proven to make their operations carbon-negative, meaning they are actively reducing greenhouse gases over their current operations.

As the trusted advisor for the energy transition, Eco-Energy shares its solar panel intelligence and other sustainability strategies with its valued partners in the energy supply chain.

“Eco-Energy has always been committed to the low-carbon future, and these two projects further testify to that commitment. Industrial sites, like these two terminals, have always been the most difficult to decarbonize, but these projects show that not only can these sites achieve net-zero but they can do so in a rapid and cost-effective way,” said the Vice President of Solar for Eco-Energy, Brandon Travis, P.E.
