Array Labs Secures $21M Investment Anchored by Mitsubishi Electric to Advance Space-Based Defense Tracking

Array Labs has closed an oversubscribed $21 million strategic funding round. The financing was led by industrial giant Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, with continued backing from existing venture partners including Catapult Ventures, Kompas VC, and Y Combinator.

Alongside the capital injection, Array Labs and Mitsubishi Electric have established a strategic commercial partnership aimed at deploying space-based maritime and aerial tracking capabilities for defense and intelligence entities throughout the Asia-Pacific region. The deal builds upon Array’s Series A financing round completed in January 2026.

Expanding Space-Based Intelligence Across Asia-Pacific

The collaboration bridges Array’s radar constellation technology with Mitsubishi Electric’s manufacturing infrastructure and satellite development heritage. As a primary defense and aerospace prime for the Japanese Ministry of Defense for over 50 years, Mitsubishi Electric brings critical scale to the partnership. The company was recently selected in February 2026 to engineer and build Japan’s next-generation defense satellite constellation.

By integrating Array’s spatial data capabilities with Mitsubishi Electric’s regional defense network, the alliance will deliver advanced Airborne Moving Target Indication (AMTI) and real-time tracking solutions to government and security clients.

“We are very pleased to collaborate with Array Labs, which aims to demonstrate its game-changing AMTI technology. By combining the technological capabilities and maximizing the synergies of our two companies, we expect to strengthen our ability to respond comprehensively to customer needs in the security field, “said Masahiko Arai, Executive Officer, Company President, Defense and Space Systems, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation.

“Mitsubishi Electric Corporation’s deep mission insights and defense relationships across Asia-Pacific make them an ideal partner. We’re excited to work together to turn space-based AMTI into an operational reality, helping humanity better understand the physical world,” said Andrew Peterson, CEO and cofounder of Array Labs.

Validated Technology and Government Traction

Array Labs continues to advance its core satellite infrastructure, having successfully validated key formation-flying routines and multistatic radar operational architectures. The company’s technical milestones have earned competitive research and development contracts across major U.S. defense agencies, including DARPA, the U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Air Force.
