ARES Security and ONYX Enter Into a Strategic Distribution and Integration Agreement

ARES Security and ONYX announce a technology partnership that integrates the ONYX next generation remote operated ISR and Remote Actuated Weapon (RAW) for non-lethal and lethal deterrence into ARES’ AVERT C2 / Mission Planning and Operation (MPO) software that is used by defense, nuclear, and commercial security agencies to protect critical assets and conduct security / military operations. The technology will be available for fixed sites and on mobile semi-autonomous ground-based platforms. Through this agreement ARES has obtained exclusive rights to embed, market and distribute ONYX technology in the Middle East.

US and Allied Militaries have an increased demand for remote autonomy and lethality. The ONYX SENTRYis a multi-functional, multi-caliber, intelligent remote weapon platform designed to be a force multiplier. It is an unmatched solution for the modern battlefield, providing automated target detection and recognition while keeping the human in the loop for lethal engagement. Based on interaction with end-user operators, ONYX has built SENTRY to be lightweight, man packable, and rapidly deployable. SENTRY leverages an advanced imaging system with ATD/ATR to autonomously scan, detect, classify, track, and report any threat for fast and effective tactical action. It may be deployed in an overwatch or terrain denial position to protect friendly forces in the heat of battle, including counter UAV capability. The integrated system combines ONYX’s X360 pan and tilt gimbal, remote actuated weapon, intelligent optics, and is secure network agnostic to be agile to operational impact. SENTRY is fully integrated with ATAK and leverages passive ranging to populate targets into the common operating picture. With ARES Security the ONYX multi-functional ISR and Remote Actuated Weapon (RAW) will be fully integrated into the AVERT C2 and AVERT MPO software for fixed site and mobile autonomous operations.

ARES’ AVERT C2 integrates autonomous systems, video, alarms, sensors, weapons systems, communications, TAK, etc. into a unified Common Operational Picture providing situational awareness for real-time operations. The software has received DHS Safety Act Certification. The AVERT C2 engine supports over 450 integrations to sensors, detectors, radar, and 3rd party systems. The strength of the system is the ability for military and commercial users to have a common view of the situation, providing a basis for rapid decisions and actionable responses.

ARES’ AVERT MPO is COTS technology that provides intelligent mission planning and remote operational control and orchestration for squads of aerial and ground autonomous systems and their respective sensors/weapons/communications from a single pane of glass in a control vehicle or tactical operations center. Autonomous missions, with their respective sensors, are planned and updated through algorithms that have been Accredited by the US Department of Defense (US DoD) through a rigorous Verification and Validation process. AVERT MPO allows autonomous platforms and sensors (EO, IR, PTZ, LIDAR, Radar, CBRNE, etc.) to provide AI object detection, track & follow, and enhance situational awareness by providing map-based alerts. Tactical ISR and lethal / non-lethal effects via manned unmanned teaming (MUM-T) are supported by a two-way TAK integration and a remote one-to-many control of autonomous systems.

“Through this collaboration, customers, in particular branches of the Department of Defense, are now equipped with a decisive tactical advantage across a range of security and defense applications,” stated Chris Klaftenegger, CEO of ONYX.

Ben Eazzetta, CEO of ARES Security commented, “By integrating ONYX’s next generation automated weapons platforms to ARES’ Situational Awareness and Mission Planning technology, ARES provides comprehensive security solutions to our clients in Defense and Nuclear, thereby allowing them to improve security response and battlefield management.”
