Caliburn Technologies™, spun out from Fathom5, has launched as a product-focused company. Its goal is to speed up the deployment of TempestOS. This is the first operating system made to manage frontier technologies like cyber, AI, robotics, and sensors at the tactical edge. Caliburn will expand its engineering and field teams. With support from strategic defense investors, it will achieve key certifications. The company will also fund initial deployments with lighthouse partners. The launch aligns with the Department of War’s push toward rapid software acquisition and commercial innovation pathways, positioning TempestOS as an integration-first, cyber-secure operating layer for contested environments. “Our customers need an operating system that can survive salt spray, contested spectrum, and denied logistics, and still let them fight through,” Staples added.
