Elektrobit has partnered with semiconductor supplier Microchip Technology Inc. in order to facilitate and fast-track the AUTOSAR-based software development process for automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers that use Microchip’s automotive computing platforms.
With the global automotive industry quickly moving towards SDV architecture, developers are under increasing strain to reduce development time while meeting all the functional safety criteria, software quality requirements, and scalability of architecture. The collaboration between the automotive silicon platforms of Microchip and the AUTOSAR software stack, configuration tools, and workflow automation solutions of Elektrobit offers a solution for the developers.
Pre-Integrated MCAL Software to Reduce Technical Complexity
With regard to strategic alliance, engineers get direct access to pre-integrated AUTOSAR MCAL software based on Elektrobit’s EB tresos product portfolio. With the validation of low-level software abstraction layer done right on Microchip hardware, the collaborative solution helps to eliminate the common integration bottleneck and lets the developer concentrate on more important application layer features rather than configuring low-level drivers.
Automation-First Approach and Integration-as-Code
In order to optimize the software pipeline even further, Elektrobit uses an integration-as-code approach in its joint development environment. It transforms a set of repetitive Classic AUTOSAR configurations into software that can be run and reused.

This automation-first approach allows running continuous integration and testing as well as setting up the foundation for further AI-driven configuration and ECU deployment.
“By integrating Microchip automotive platforms with Elektrobit’s AUTOSAR expertise and tooling, we are helping customers streamline development and accelerate adoption of next-generation automotive architectures,” said Mark Reiten, Senior Corporate Vice President of Microchip’s licensing, memory products and intelligent compute business units. “Together, we are making it easier for developers to move from platform evaluation to production deployment.”
“Automotive manufacturers are seeking ways to accelerate software innovation while reducing development costs and complexity,” said Jaganathan Rajagopalan, Vice President, Head of Strategy and Portfolio Elektrobit. “Our collaboration with Microchip combines proven automotive software foundations with ready-to-use hardware support, enabling customers to bring software-defined vehicle innovations to market faster and with lower integration risk.”
Platform Availability and Expanded Hardware Support
The joint initiative expands AUTOSAR support across a growing catalog of Microchip automotive processors. Elektrobit has successfully qualified and enabled its EB tresos AutoCore OS and EB tresos AutoCore Generic modules on Microchip’s SAMA5 series of microprocessors, making the integrated stack available for immediate commercial deployment. Additional Microchip automotive hardware platforms are scheduled to receive pre-integrated AUTOSAR support as the technical roadmap expands.
