Bentley Systems’ iTwin Ventures Acquires Blyncsy, Breakthrough Innovator of AI Services for Transportation Operations and Maintenance

Bentley Systems, an infrastructure engineering software company, announced groundbreaking artificial intelligence to power the Department of Transportation’s operations and maintenance operations. Announced the acquisition of Blyncsy, a provider of services. Bentley iTwin Ventures’ portfolio, focused on the digital twin ecosystem, will boost the digital twin ecosystem by accelerating the development and adoption of such broadly valuable infrastructure asset analytics.

Founded in 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah by CEO Mark Pittman, Blyncsy applies computer vision and artificial intelligence to analyze publicly available imagery to identify maintenance problems in road networks. Masu. Pittman first came up with the idea for the company when he was stuck at a traffic light. He thought there must be a way to combine “real-time” condition data with innovative technology to help the Department of Transportation become more efficient.

Blyncsy’s disruptive AI service replaces costly and time-consuming manual data collection, reducing the need for on-site workers, specialized vehicles and hardware. It also enables transportation infrastructure owner-operators to understand road conditions and respond in a timely manner. Blyncsy detects over 50 different road safety issues, including the actual working area of a site currently under construction.

Mr Pittman said: “ Blyncsy is committed to applying the latest AI and machine learning technologies to serve the transportation network. Together, we will provide transportation infrastructure owners with even more in-depth asset analysis to support current and future drivers.”

“ Safety is our number one priority, operational efficiency is second. We are managing it proactively,” said Ed Sniffen, Director of the Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT). ” HDOT employs technology that allows us to operate in the most productive way possible. Blyncsy provides weekly reports with graphs and photos detailing the condition of guardrails, roads and vegetation. From there, we have additional tools to prioritize resources to meet the needs of the highway network.”

Mike Schellhase, Managing Executive Officer of Bentley iTwin Ventures, said: “ For Blyncsy, we initially considered participating in a series of VC investment rounds. By investing in analysis technology for a wide range of assets, we expect to accelerate the use of infrastructure digital twins.”

Blyncsy deploys Bentley’s iTwin Platform to integrate with infrastructure owners’ engineering and simulation models for immersive environments. Bentley will bring Blyncsy’s AI services into the company’s new Mobility Digital Twin offering to market.

The acquisition of Blyncsy was supported by Ignatious Growth Capital and Advisory. Blyncsy’s investors are Peterson Ventures, Doug Wells, Elemental Excelerator, Park City Angel Network, OakHouse Partners and CEAS Investments.
