The U.S. Air Force has awarded Boeing a contract to design, build, and deliver its Next-Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) fighter aircraft, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of air combat technology.

The NGAD platform represents a transformative leap in range, survivability, lethality, and adaptability, serving as the central node in the NGAD Family of Systems. This next-generation fighter is designed to maintain air superiority in increasingly complex and contested environments, reinforcing the United States’ commitment to cutting-edge defense capabilities.
“We recognize the importance of designing, building and delivering a 6th-generation fighter capability for the United States Air Force. In preparation for this mission, we made the most significant investment in the history of our defense business, and we are ready to provide the most advanced and innovative NGAD aircraft needed to support the mission,” said Steve Parker, interim president and chief executive officer, Boeing Defense, Space & Security.
