Citadel Aviation Appoints Fred Cromer Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Citadel Aviation has appointed aviation industry veteran Fred Cromer as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, adding a senior executive with three decades of experience across airlines, aircraft leasing, aerospace manufacturing and aviation technology. Cromer will be based at the company’s Dallas Love Field center of excellence and report to CEO Greg Colgan.

In his new role, Cromer will have responsibility for Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources and Legal, extending the CFO position beyond traditional financial management. He will work with the CEO on establishing a common operating model as Citadel expands its multi-site aircraft services platform, with priorities including capital structure, mergers and acquisitions, and long-term planning.

Cromer has held leadership positions across several areas of the aviation industry and has guided companies through periods of expansion, restructuring, acquisitions and divestitures. His previous experience includes senior roles at Spirit Airlines, Xwing, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft and International Lease Finance Corporation.

The appointment comes as Citadel continues to develop its aircraft maintenance, modification and refurbishment operations across Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Dallas, Texas, while supporting aircraft-on-ground services globally. The broader responsibilities assigned to Cromer indicate the growing importance of aligning finance, technology, workforce management and legal functions as specialized aviation businesses expand.

For the aviation sector, the move highlights how companies pursuing multi-site growth are increasingly relying on executives with experience across both financial strategy and operational transformation.
