Carenet Health Acquires Conversational AI Leader Orbita to Drive End-To-End Patient Navigation

Carenet Health (Carenet), a prominent engagement, navigation, and clinical execution partner serving over 400 top-tier payers, providers, and healthcare technology organizations, has announced the acquisition of Orbita, an AI-driven patient engagement and communications software company specializing in health systems and specialty provider networks.

The strategic acquisition reinforces Carenet’s technology stack and artificial intelligence infrastructure, directly addressing operational friction across critical touchpoints in the healthcare consumer journey-specifically where patients locate, schedule, prepare for, and complete clinical care. Agentic AI Engine from Orbita is an automation solution for patient education and communications that uses native integration capabilities with popular EHR/EMR and enterprise CRM solutions.

This step is in line with Carenet’s strategic objective to assist healthcare institutions in increasing patient accessibility, affordability, and results through continuous technological advancement and engagement.

“Our clinical roots, technology foundation, operational excellence, and decades of insights are unmatched, and we deliberately build and acquire capabilities that amplify those strengths,” said Christopher Rogers, President of Carenet Health. “Orbita’s platform perfectly complements our stack, ensuring our clients benefit from the most efficient blend of automation, AI, and empathetic human support.”

Scaling Healthcare Engagement via Enterprise Agentic AI

Established in 2015, Orbita emerged as an early innovator in conversational AI for healthcare applications. To date, its platform has powered more than 50 million automated patient interactions across 1.5 million individual patients. The company’s product suite encompasses digital front door navigation, patient acquisition, access optimization, and personalized care routing.

Seamless Integration and Expanded Global Reach

Under the terms of the agreement, Orbita’s specialized engineering and clinical communication team will transition into Carenet immediately. Orbita‘s existing client base will maintain uninterrupted access to their current software platforms, active engagement programs, and account management teams. Simultaneously, these organizations gain access to Carenet’s broader ecosystem of clinical and non-clinical engagement solutions, expansive global delivery capacity, and deep health data analytics.

Concurrently, Carenet’s enterprise client base gains access to an EHR-integrated AI architecture that enhances existing digital channels and automates routine operational tasks without sacrificing clinical accuracy or human empathy.
