Rapidus and Cadence Partner to Advance System-on-Chip Engineering with Agentic AI Integration

Rapidus Corporation and computational software leader Cadence Design Systems, Inc. have announced a strategic collaboration designed to pioneer agentic artificial intelligence (AI) methodologies for next-generation system-on-chip (SoC) engineering. The technological partnership focuses on integrating the Cadence® InnoStack™ AI Super Agent directly into the newly expanded Rapidus AI-Agentic Design Solution (Raads) ecosystem.

The joint initiative unites Rapidus’ AI-centric logic chip design and manufacturing framework with Cadence‘s autonomous agentic workflow orchestration technologies. By aligning these computing environments, the companies aim to boost engineering throughput, compress time-to-market windows, and elevate baseline silicon quality across the entire microchip lifecycle. As a primary operational target of the deployment, Rapidus aims to achieve up to a 2X acceleration in design turnaround time (TAT) compared to legacy semiconductor engineering methodologies.

Overcoming Multi-Node Complexity in the Hardware Landscape

The global buildout of hyperscale AI infrastructure, combined with an emerging generation of physical, AI-driven automation systems, has forced a critical shift toward comprehensive system-level co-optimization. Modern silicon engineering now mandates deep operational convergence across front-end logic layout, fabrication, advanced 3D packaging, and target system environments. Within this tightly integrated landscape, autonomous agentic AI software layers have emerged as essential mechanisms for navigating the physical constraints of advanced process nodes.

To address these compounding engineering hurdles, Rapidus is expanding its proprietary Raads platform through the rollout of two specialized automation tools:

Raads Navigator: Engineered to refine quality assurance protocols and guide layout engineers through structural layout bottlenecks.

Raads Indicator: Developed to provide automated diagnostic support, helping design teams isolate and resolve complex silicon integration challenges early in the development lifecycle.

Significantly, these new proprietary modules have been deeply integrated with the Cadence InnoStack AI Super Agent. The unified platform enables autonomous design orchestration across critical SoC production phases, automating and managing multi-tiered engineering tasks spanning from initial architectural exploration to final digital implementation and signoff. By applying continuous, data-driven optimization loops across the entire software development stack, the integrated architecture helps engineering teams mitigate advanced-node manufacturing risks, build long-term design predictability, and maximize human developer productivity.

Executive Insights and Industry Presentation

“Advanced-node SoC design increasingly requires AI agents that can orchestrate complex workflows across the design lifecycle, not just optimize individual tasks,” said Anirudh Devgan, president and CEO, Cadence. “By combining Cadence’s InnoStack AI Super Agent with Rapidus’ Raads platform, we are extending agentic AI into a leading-edge semiconductor ecosystem, enabling customers to improve productivity, accelerate design closure and bring more advanced silicon to market faster.”

The companies will detail the technical milestones of their joint development during CadenceLIVE Japan 2026. The event will feature an industry keynote address delivered by Dr. Atsuyoshi Koike, representative director and CEO of Rapidus, focusing on how the evolution of the Raads portfolio with Cadence agentic AI and electronic design automation (EDA) architectures improves operational yield and layout efficiency within advanced semiconductor nodes.

“At its completion, our Innovative Integration for Manufacturing facility will be the most advanced, AI-native foundry where AI is incorporated at almost every stage of semiconductor manufacturing,” said Koike. “By evolving Raads and integrating it with Cadence’s InnoStack AI Super Agent, we are strengthening our AI-agentic design environment to help customers manage increasing SoC complexity, improve engineering productivity and realize the full value of Rapidus’ advanced process technologies. In working closely with Cadence on InnoStack and additional Cadence AI Super Agent solutions, we see a clear path to significantly reducing design turnaround time and enabling faster innovation on Rapidus’ advanced nodes.”
