Jeppesen ForeFlight Launches Airflow AI Engine to Bring Responsible AI to Aviation Operations

Jeppesen ForeFlight has introduced Jeppesen ForeFlight Airflow™, an aviation-focused agentic AI engine designed to deliver responsible, domain-specific artificial intelligence across general, commercial, business and military aviation. Built on decades of aviation expertise, operational data and safety knowledge, the model-agnostic platform combines commercially available data, and certified aviation intelligence to support planning, and flight operations. Its open architecture allows customers to integrate their own AI agents, use third-party solutions or deploy Jeppesen ForeFlight’s native agents while maintaining varying levels of human oversight. The company also previewed ForeFlight AI Connector, an MCP server that links ForeFlight Mobile with OpenAI ChatGPT, enabling users to query flight plans, refueling options and create AI-driven workflows using their own aviation data, with future support planned for Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude.

“General AI is confident, but often wrong. In our industry, these mistakes cascade into costly, dangerous, or catastrophic outcomes. Artificial intelligence is not enough for this industry, we need aviation intelligence: the assurance that the right data, right context, and right reasoning are applied every time, and always cross-checked and filtered through industry safety and governance protocols,” said Brad Surak, CEO, Jeppesen ForeFlight. “We have helped the industry evolve from paper to digital to mobile, and we are bringing to market a highly differentiated AI offering in Jeppesen ForeFlight Airflow that customers can deploy on their own terms and timelines, at significantly lower IT costs than previous industry transitions.”
