L3Harris Showcases Interoperable Network Enhancing Communication Across U.S. Government and Defense Agencies

L3Harris Technologies recently completed an interoperable communications network proof-of-concept that integrates several different U.S. government agencies, including the Department of War, with a highly novel and rapid cross-domain communications network.

The event included some senior U.S. government officials.

The end-to-end demonstration showcased various tactical communications solutions, counter-UAS tools, latest imaging solutions, and mobile operation centers, and it incorporated highly sophisticated command and control infrastructures. The comprehensive and integrated system illustrated the benefits of rapid and resilient networking within mission environments and response to emerging threats.

“We’re responding to Secretary Hegseth’s challenge to harden our borders and safeguard our homeland with capabilities working side by side and operating at a level ahead of anything commercially available,” said Sam Mehta, President, Communication Systems, L3 Technologies. “We have learned that speed wins and delay leads to defeat, and our business model allows us to put these capabilities into soldiers’ hands weeks, not years.”

Spotting Emerging Technologies Begin

The protest highlighted essential technologies that foster interoperability and mission agility:

T-HAWC – a resilient communications backbone.

AN/PRC-158C – a software-defined data device with capabilities for dynamic secure

5G Gateway Solutions – providing high-speed network-centric connectivity.

These solutions have worked seamlessly as a mix for use with various safety and tactical communications intended for manned as well as unmanned platforms and with consideration for rising complexities in operations.

Resilient, Secure Connectivity in Challenging Environments

The interoperable network showed an ability to maintain connections, even under degraded or contested conditions – an extremely useful feature for the Ministry of War, as well as various government and disaster response agencies. The multi-path communications solutions are designed with the goal of sustaining operations and enable leaders to make decisions in moments that count.
