Eaton, in collaboration with ChargePoint, a leading provider of EV charging solutions, announced the launch of ChargePoint Express Grid powered by Eaton – an ultrafast charging architecture with fully integrated power infrastructure designed for both public charging and fleet electrification.
The new solution delivers up to 600kW for passenger EVs and supports megawatt-level charging for heavy-duty commercial vehicles, addressing one of the most pressing challenges in transportation electrification: scaling EV charging cost-effectively without overwhelming the grid.
By combining ChargePoint’s Express fast chargers with Eaton’s end-to-end electrical systems, the platform helps customers overcome grid constraints while enabling seamless integration with onsite renewables, energy storage, and vehicle batteries. Leveraging Eaton’s Everything as a Grid approach and built-in vehicle-to-everything (V2X) capabilities, the system can also connect to local energy markets, reducing fueling costs for fleets and, when scaled with utility participation, supporting overall grid stability.
“Accelerating electrification at scale hinges on industry-changing technology from trusted manufacturers that can be deployed faster while achieving new levels of reliability and efficiency at a significantly lower cost,” said Paul Ryan, vice president and general manager of energy transition at Eaton. “Our partnership with ChargePoint is an accelerator for innovation in electrification, with novel technology today and into the future that makes going electric the smart choice.”

“The new ChargePoint Express architecture, and particularly the Express Grid variant, will take DC fast charging to levels of performance and cost not previously imagined. This latest technological breakthrough further demonstrates our commitment to deliver innovation,” said Rick Wilmer, CEO of ChargePoint. “Combined with Eaton’s end-to-end grid capabilities, ChargePoint is delivering solutions to help EVs win on pure economics, regardless of tax incentives or government support.”
Scalable, Grid-Ready Design
Each ChargePoint Express configuration will be custom-engineered by Eaton with a complete, site-ready power infrastructure, including an option for skid-mounted systems that simplify deployment, cut installation time, and reduce equipment requirements.
Looking ahead, Eaton also plans to commercialize solid-state transformer (SST) technology next year, enabled by its recent acquisition of Resilient Power Systems Inc. The SST platform will further enhance DC applications for the EV market and beyond, supporting the next wave of high-power, grid-friendly charging solutions.
