Schneider Electric Acquires WattBuy to Drive U.S. Residential Electrification

WattBuy, a software company delivering personalized energy insights and electrification solutions for residential customers, announced its acquisition by Schneider Electric, the global leader in energy management and automation. WattBuy’s current leadership team, including CEO and Co-Founder Naman Trivedi, will continue to lead the company’s operations under Schneider Electric’s ownership.

The acquisition enhances Schneider Electric’s ability to simplify and accelerate the energy transition for U.S. homeowners, offering smarter, data-driven solutions for household electrification.

As part of the integration, WattBuy will collaborate with Schneider Electric subsidiaries EnergySage, the nation’s leading online solar and storage marketplace, and Qmerit, a national leader in electrification services. Together, the companies will deliver an end-to-end energy experience-from customized energy plans and rooftop solar to EV charger installation and full home electrification upgrades. WattBuy’s API-first platform already powers leading brands such as Redfin, Veterans United Home Loans, and Opendoor, reaching more than 100 million consumers.

“Electrification is the defining opportunity of the next decade – and it starts with empowering consumers,” said Jaser Faruq, SVP, Prosumer at Schneider Electric. “WattBuy’s personalization capabilities and intelligence engine are the perfect complement to EnergySage’s mission of transparency and choice. By integrating WattBuy into our growing prosumer energy portfolio, we’re unlocking a future where every household can make smarter, cleaner energy choices, transforming both the purchasing and installation experience.”

WattBuy leverages proprietary data models to provide tailored recommendations for electricity plans, rooftop solar, battery storage, and total household energy costs. By combining this intelligence with EnergySage’s trusted marketplace and Qmerit’s extensive installer network, Schneider Electric now delivers a comprehensive digital-to-physical pathway for home electrification.

“Joining Schneider Electric is a pivotal step in WattBuy’s journey,” said Naman Trivedi, CEO and Co-Founder of WattBuy. “Together with EnergySage and Qmerit, we’re creating a seamless, intelligent experience for homeowners—making it easier than ever to take control of energy costs, reduce carbon emissions, and upgrade to a fully electrified lifestyle.”
