Lucid Air Now Available to Supports Android Auto

Lucid Group, renowned for engineering the world’s most advanced electric vehicles, announced the rollout of the Android Auto Smart Driving Companion app across its Lucid Air lineup. The new feature is being delivered via an over-the-air (OTA) update to Lucid OS 2.7.0, enabling drivers to effortlessly connect their Android smartphones to the vehicle’s interface-either wirelessly or via USB.

With this latest update, Lucid Air owners gain direct access to a range of Android Auto-compatible apps-including navigation, music, messaging, and more—directly through the Lucid Air’s signature 34-inch Glass Cockpit display, designed for an intuitive and immersive driving experience.

“Android Auto is one of the most requested features from Lucid users, and we’re excited to announce that we’ve begun rolling out a software update to add this capability,” said Dr. Jean-Philippe Gauthier, Director of Software Engineering at Lucid. “Android Auto with Lucid Air’s expansive 34-inch Glass Cockpit reinforces our commitment to offering zero compromise, enhancing user comfort and convenience.”

To activate Android Auto in a Lucid Air vehicle, drivers will need an Android smartphone running Android 9.0 or later, an active mobile data plan, and a compatible USB cable. For users with Android 11 or newer, the platform also supports wireless connectivity, allowing seamless integration without the need for physical cables.

A step-by-step guide for pairing your device with Android Auto-whether via USB or wirelessly-is available in Lucid’s Knowledge Center. Support for Android Auto on Lucid Gravity models will be available in a future update.
