RWE Expands Partnership with GE Vernova to Boost U.S. Renewable Energy Projects

RWE Clean Energy is deepening its collaboration with GE Vernova to secure domestically manufactured components for two large-scale renewable energy projects in the United States. This partnership underscores RWE’s commitment to strengthening the nation’s clean energy supply chain and advancing sustainability goals.

Under the agreement, GE Vernova will provide 75 wind turbines for RWE’s Selway wind project in Kansas, alongside power conversion equipment for the Big Star solar project in Texas. These components will be sourced from GE Vernova’s U.S.-based manufacturing facilities, aligning with federal initiatives aimed at expanding domestic clean energy production.

“Our agreement with GE Vernova allows us to deploy high-quality, U.S.-made components in our projects, reinforcing our commitment to investing in domestic manufacturing and a cleaner energy future,” said Andrew Flanagan, CEO of RWE Clean Energy.

The Selway wind project will feature GE Vernova’s 2.8-MW turbines, designed to enhance energy efficiency and performance. Meanwhile, the Big Star solar project will utilize advanced electrical systems to optimize power conversion and integration with the grid.

By sourcing components from domestic suppliers, RWE aims to support job creation, supply chain resilience, and the long-term growth of the U.S. renewable energy industry. The partnership with GE Vernova represents a significant step in accelerating the transition to a sustainable and self-sufficient energy future.
