Ranpak Holdings Corp, a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions, has expanded its portfolio by introducing PaperWrap, an innovative alternative to traditional plastic stretch film for pallet wrapping.
PaperWrap, developed in collaboration with Europe’s PaperWrap GmbH and the Mondi Group, utilizes Mondi’s Ad/Vantage StretchWrap—a recyclable kraft paper engineered for stretchability and puncture resistance. This design makes it a viable replacement for conventional plastic stretch films in securing goods for transportation.
The PaperWrap system is available in three configurations to accommodate varying automation needs: semi-automatic stand-alone units, fully automatic stand-alone machines, and fully automatic line integration systems. These options allow businesses to select solutions that align with their specific operational requirements, warehouse layouts, and throughput demands.

Environmental assessments indicate that Mondi’s Ad/Vantage StretchWrap produces 62% lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to virgin plastic stretch film and 49% lower emissions than plastic film containing 50% recycled content. This reduction supports companies’ efforts to decrease carbon footprints and promote circularity in their operations.
Omar Asali, Chairman and CEO of Ranpak, emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainability: “At Ranpak, sustainability is at the core of everything we do.”
The PaperWrap technology has already been adopted by several European companies, including IKEA, demonstrating its effectiveness in real-world applications. Each reel of Ad/Vantage StretchWrap can wrap up to 750 pallets, offering an efficient and eco-friendly alternative to plastic stretch films.
By integrating PaperWrap into its offerings, Ranpak continues to lead in providing sustainable packaging solutions that meet both environmental and operational excellence standards.
