Databricks announced that Toyota Motor Corporation has adopted the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform to power vista, a unified data and AI hub designed to integrate Toyota’s corporate, connected, and customer data while enabling more efficient AI and machine learning development. Building on Toyota’s Data Library Project launched in 2021 to break down data silos, vista addresses prior infrastructure and operational constraints by providing a secure, governed, and high-quality environment where employees can independently access and use data at scale. Leveraging Databricks’ Unity Catalog, the platform delivers centralized, zero-copy data management with consistent metadata and permissions, simplifying data sharing, model deployment, and collaboration across teams. Vista also serves as Toyota’s AI-ready foundation, with active use of tools such as Genie for natural language analysis and Databricks Apps, and future plans to adopt Agent Bricks to build and scale AI agents.

“Toyota’s digital transformation is now focused on integrating data and optimizing end-to-end operations. To achieve this, we require not only high security, low cost, and scalability, but also a platform that enables company-wide AI utilization. Databricks is currently the best option to meet these requirements. We hope to develop a transactional platform that can enable real-time, bidirectional data collaboration,” said Mr. Kento Izumi, Head of Digital Transformation Promotion Office, Toyota Motor Corporation. “We’re thrilled to support Toyota’s bold vision. By unifying AI apps, analytics, and agents on the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform, Toyota is democratizing data access and accelerating its digital transformation,” said Toshifumi Sasa, VP and Country Manager for Databricks Japan.
