HEN Technologies, a Hayward, California-based deep-tech leader in intelligent fire suppression, has secured $22 million in new financing, consisting of an oversubscribed $20 million Series A round and $2 million in venture debt, to accelerate development of what it calls the industry’s first operating system for fire defense and expand its predictive AI platform, Fluid-IQ, built on advanced fluid dynamics hardware; this brings the company’s total funding to more than $30 million and will be used to scale its IoT-enabled hardware infrastructure to capture the comprehensive operational fire dataset necessary for predictive fire defense and global deployments. The Series A was led by O’Neil Strategic Capital with participation from NSFO, Tanas Capital and z21 Ventures, and venture debt was provided by Silicon Valley Bank, positioning HEN to build the critical data foundation for its AI models while expanding partner enablement, customer experience and technical operations as it grows its global distributor network of over 100 in 20 countries and scales more than 100 demonstration specialists to deliver hands-on evaluations of its systems to agencies worldwide, including major adopters such as CAL FIRE, U.S. military units and international fire agencies. “We’re proud to lead this round and back HEN’s vision to create an entirely new category: the intelligent operating system for fire defense,” said Alex Garden, Managing Partner of O’Neil Strategic Capital, noting the company’s transformational hardware-first approach and potential to become an essential platform for how the world fights fires; Dr. Sunny Sethi, CEO of HEN Technologies, added, “Wildfires are more frequent, and modern structures burn eight times faster than legacy structures. Incremental changes cannot keep up. That’s why we are building transformational technology using Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) and AI-powered decision support. We are moving beyond optimizing tools to optimizing strategy. This is essential infrastructure for climate resilience and national security,” emphasizing the need for predictive, strategy-oriented fire defense to address rising wildfire impacts such as the tens of billions in damages seen in recent U.S. fire events.

“We are capitalizing on our momentum by scaling three critical areas: partner enablement, customer experience and technical operations,” said Akshay Thakor, COO of HEN Technologies, underscoring investments in the distributor platform and scaling of sales, operations and technical teams to maintain execution quality worldwide, while Raj Singh of z21 Ventures highlighted the paradigm-shifting capabilities of HEN’s proprietary fluid dynamics and AI platform in improving firefighting efficiency and public safety impact.
HEN’s technology delivers up to three-times faster extinguishment and reduces water usage by up to 67% through connected nozzles, valves and pump controls that capture real-time data on flow, pressure and pattern performance directly from the front lines, transforming fire response from a reactive process into a predictive, adaptive network that replaces outdated manual systems with intelligent, data-driven solutions for climate resilience and fireground coordination.
