Avathon has launched Autonomy for Logistics Planning, an AI-driven optimization solution designed for liquid bulk logistics across rail tank cars, tanker trucks, and storage terminals, after first proving its effectiveness with a supermajor oil and gas company. Liquid bulk cargo, which makes up nearly 40% of maritime volume and involves hazardous materials and strict compliance protocols, relies heavily on safe, efficient transport. Avathon’s solution, built on its Autonomy Platform and computational knowledge graph, integrates data from shipments, assets, weather, risks, and business rules to automate planning, scheduling, and routing.

It enables rapid “what if” scenario modeling, proactive disruption management, and dynamic optimization through reinforcement learning-far surpassing traditional static planning methods. By evaluating conditions such as capacity, compliance, costs, and external risks, improves fleet utilization, reduces downtime, and resilience across networks. “What we achieved with our first customer demonstrated the power of AI to transform complex operations and enhance profitability,” said Pervinder Johar, CEO of Avathon. “We are now ready to scale this first-of-its-kind planning solution to all liquid bulk shipping fleets across the globe spanning hazardous, non-hazardous, edible and non-edible liquids and bringing enhanced safety and profitability to the industry.”
