Arqit Launches Quantum‑Safe SKA Edge Controller to Secure Military Operations

Arqit Quantum Inc. has released its new SKA Edge Controller (SKA‑EC), a ruggedized, quantum‑safe Symmetric Key Agreement (SKA) communications platform engineered for forward‑deployed defense environments. SKA‑EC extends Arqit’s SKA‑Platform™ to tactical edge use cases by enabling rapid deployment of secure command‑and‑control (C2) nodes in high‑threat, disconnected or bandwidth‑constrained scenarios without relying on traditional encryption infrastructure. Using dynamically generated symmetric keys across trusted endpoints, the system removes the risks associated with pre‑shared keys and eliminates the complexity of Public Key Infrastructure, providing a crypto‑agile, zero‑trust solution.

Compact and scalable across hardware options such as BioDigitalPC® cards, COTS servers, or cloud nodes, SKA‑EC is compliant with NSA, NIST, CSNA 2.0 and FIPS 140‑3 standards. It supports a broad range of military applications – from mobile headquarters and deployed force elements to command links for autonomous platforms and unmanned vehicles – while delivering SWaP (size, weight, and power) efficiency. Available now to government and defense partners, SKA‑EC is positioned as a future‑proof communications system built for resilient, secure, high‑tempo missions.
