NASA’s SpaceX Crew-5 Launches to International Space Station. The crew members assigned to NASA’s SpaceX Crew-5 mission are in orbit following their launch to the International Space Station noon EDT Wednesday, from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The international crew will serve as the agency’s fifth commercial crew rotation mission with SpaceX aboard the orbital laboratory.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket propelled the Dragon Endurance spacecraft into orbit carrying NASA astronauts Nicole Mann as mission commander, and Josh Cassada, pilot. JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Koichi Wakata and Roscosmos cosmonaut Anna Kikina, also aboard the Dragon, will serve as mission specialists for their science expedition in microgravity aboard the space station.

Nestlé Launches Nescafé Plan 2030 to Help Drive Regenerative Agriculture. NESCAFÉ, Nestlé’s largest coffee brand and one of the world’s favorite coffees, outlined its extensive plan to help make coffee farming more sustainable: the NESCAFÉ Plan 2030. The brand is working with coffee farmers to help them transition to regenerative agriculture while accelerating its decade of work under the NESCAFÉ Plan.

The brand is investing over one billion Swiss francs by 2030 in the NESCAFÉ Plan 2030. This investment builds on the existing NESCAFÉ Plan as the brand expands its sustainability work. It is supported by Nestlé’s regenerative agriculture financing following the Group’s commitment to accelerate the transition to a regenerative food system and ambition to achieve zero net greenhouse gas emissions.

MVB Financial Corp. Completes Execution of Strategic Minority Investment in Warp Speed. MVB Financial Corp., the parent holding company for MVB Bank (the “Bank”), has announced the completion of the previously announced transaction in which MVBF has acquired a 37.5% interest in Warp Speed Holdings LLC (“Warp”) for $48 million (the “Consideration”). The Consideration is comprised of $38.4 million cash and $9.6 million in MVB common stock, with the number of shares issued being based on the volume weighted average closing price for shares of MVB common stock for the 20 trading days ending the day prior to the closing date.

Biolink Life Sciences, Charak Foundation and Kare Biosciences Announce Contract for Developing a Novel Treatment.  BioLink Life Sciences of Cary, North Carolina, today announced receiving a contract from BARDA (the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority) to fund the development of Ramatroban for treatment of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 pneumonia (the RAMBAN-1 Study).

BioLink’s $750,000 contract from BARDA complements a multimillion dollar grant from Open Philanthropy to the Charak Foundation. RAMBAN-1 is a Phase 2/3 randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial to evaluate Ramatroban’s safety and efficacy in speeding recovery in hospitalized patients with COVID-19 pneumonia with a 28-day course of treatment. RAMBAN-1 will also explore if the 28-day treatment of acute disease with Ramatroban reduces the risks of subsequent development of post-acute sequelae of COVID-19 (“long COVID”) over the ensuing 11 months.
