Applied Materials Joins Apple and Texas Instruments, to Boost U.S. Chip Manufacturing

Applied Materials, is collaborating with Apple and Texas Instruments (TI) to advance the U.S. semiconductor manufacturing supply chain. As part of Apple’s newly announced partnership with TI, Applied will supply American-made chipmaking equipment from its Austin, Texas facility-Applied’s largest manufacturing and logistics hub-to TI’s U.S. factories.

In a further commitment to domestic manufacturing, Applied plans to invest more than $200 million in Arizona to build a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to producing critical components for semiconductor equipment. This initiative follows more than $400 million the company has invested in its U.S. manufacturing infrastructure over the past five years.

“For nearly 60 years, Applied Materials has been driving transformative innovation in chip manufacturing and ensuring the building blocks of technology are produced in the United States,” said Gary Dickerson, President and CEO of Applied Materials. “Strengthening America’s semiconductor leadership has never been more important than in today’s AI era, and we are honored to work alongside industry leaders to strengthen the U.S. chip supply chain.”

Apple Chief Operating Officer Sabih Khan emphasized the impact of these partnerships: “With our new American Manufacturing Program, we’re proud to partner with companies like Applied Materials to create new jobs and bring even more manufacturing to America. This is part of our $600 billion commitment to the US over the next four years, and we couldn’t be more excited about the future of American innovation.”

Texas Instruments, known for its leadership in analog and embedded processing, will leverage this collaboration to scale domestic production. “TI is uniquely positioned to deliver dependable, low-cost 300mm manufacturing capacity at scale for foundational analog and embedded processing semiconductors,” said Mohammad Yunus, Senior Vice President of Technology and Manufacturing at Texas Instruments. “We are proud to work with companies like Applied Materials to manufacture semiconductors that are vital for nearly every type of electronic system.”

Applied Materials has the largest U.S.-based manufacturing footprint of any semiconductor equipment supplier, with major production sites in Texas, Massachusetts, Montana, and a new facility underway in Arizona. Since its establishment in 1992, the company’s Austin campus has been a cornerstone of its global operations, producing advanced semiconductor tools and accelerating product commercialization for leading chipmakers. The site features a cutting-edge automated robotics storage system and plays a pivotal role in meeting future market demands.

In Arizona, Applied is already an integral player in the state’s rapidly growing high-tech ecosystem, collaborating with customers, industry partners, and academic institutions to drive innovation.

Applied Materials‘ new advanced manufacturing facility will further bolster Arizona’s robust semiconductor ecosystem and strengthen U.S. supply chain resiliency,” said Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “Across important areas such as equipment, R&D, and workforce training, Applied has been a tremendous industry partner, and we’re grateful for their continued leadership and commitment to Arizona.”
