Hanshow, a top name in digital retail solutions, has teamed up with Unide Corporativa. This cooperative is among Spain’s oldest and most respected in food. It aims to speed up store digitization and boost operational efficiency. This effort is part of Unide’s new strategic plan, “Plan Unide 2.0” (2025–2028).
Unide started over 90 years ago. It brings together hundreds of independent food retailers in Spain. The cooperative model focuses on proximity, freshness, and serving local communities. The Unide 2.0 Plan starts a multi-year change. It aims to boost competitiveness, modernize the retail network, and support sustainable growth. Members will get help to improve store performance and open new locations.
Addressing Operational Challenges Through Digitization
Unide, like other cooperative retail groups, faces common issues. These include manual paper labeling, price differences, and limited promotional options across its stores. Spanish consumers want clear prices and a smooth shopping experience. This is especially true for busy areas like fresh produce.

To address these challenges, Unide selected Hanshow as its digital transformation partner. Together with Shop & Roll, which supplies store accessories, the companies are rolling out Hanshow’s advanced electronic shelf label (ESL) solution—a cloud-based system that allows centralized management of pricing and promotions while delivering improved transparency for consumers.
Unide stores can replace paper labels with digital displays. This lets them quickly update prices and promotions. As a result, customers can make better purchasing choices. Automation boosts store productivity, accuracy, and brand consistency in the cooperative network.
“At Unide, we are committed to improving efficiency and supporting our member stores while remaining true to our cooperative values of local service and quality,” said David Navas Abengózar, Managing Director of Unide. “Hanshow’s ESL technology has simplified our operations and helped us modernize our stores in line with our Plan Unide 2.0 vision.”
“This collaboration demonstrates how Hanshow’s customer-centric innovation can translate real-world retail needs into practical technology,” said Liangyan Li, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Sales at Hanshow. “Working with Unide, we are enabling smarter, more transparent in-store operations that benefit both business performance and consumer trust.”
